🍋 Braised Beef or Lamb with Vegetables and Lemon

👩‍🍳 Preparation:

  1. Sear the meat: In a large pot or deep pan, heat olive oil. Brown the meat on both sides, then remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté vegetables: In the same pot, add onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and bell pepper. Cook until softened.
  3. Add tomato base: Stir in tomato paste and diced tomatoes. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Return meat & add broth: Place the meat back into the pot. Pour in broth, add lemon slices, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer or bake: Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours, or bake in a covered dish at 180°C (350°F) for the same time, until meat is tender.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
