- Score the Skin: Use a sharp knife to make shallow crosshatch cuts on the skin side—don’t cut into the meat.
- Season: Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Sear the Skin: Place duck breasts skin-side down in a cold skillet. Turn heat to medium and cook for 6–8 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
- Flip & Cook: Turn the duck over and cook for another 3–4 minutes.
- Add Flavor: Add garlic, vinegar, and broth to the pan. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Rest: Remove duck from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
