Dough:
- 1½ tbsp active dry yeast
- 1½ tbsp granulated sugar
- ½ cup warm water
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 8 tbsp butter
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ~5 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 12 tbsp butter (softened)
- ¾ cup light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 12 slices thick-cut bacon (baked but not crispy, then chopped)
Frosting:
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp maple syrup
👩🍳 Instructions
- Bake bacon at 375°F for 15 mins, chop once cooled.
- Activate yeast in warm water with sugar, let sit 5–10 mins.
- Mix in milk, butter, sugar, egg, and salt. Gradually add flour until dough pulls away from bowl.
- Knead until stretchy, let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a 15×26″ rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, and bacon.
- Roll tightly, slice into 12 rolls, place in greased pan. Let rise 30–45 mins.
- Bake at 350°F for 18–23 mins until golden.
- Beat frosting ingredients and spread generously over warm rolls.
