Option 1: Boiled Horta (Traditional Style)

  1. Clean the greens: Wash thoroughly and remove any tough stems or damaged leaves.
  2. Boil: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add greens and cook uncovered for 15–20 minutes until tender.
  3. Drain & dress: Drain well and transfer to a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.

Option 2: Sautéed Horta (Flavorful Twist)

  1. Sauté aromatics: In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and leek until soft.
  2. Add greens: Add chopped greens and cook until wilted. Add a splash of water and cover to steam for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Finish: Stir in lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional dill or garlic. Serve warm with crusty bread or feta.
